Inland Marine Underwriting

What does this mean?
Underwriters triage and quote faster with consistent, complete data, reducing manual review time and improving speed to bind.
How it works?
Ingests broker emails and portals, extracts fields from submissions, schedules of values, and loss runs in mixed formats, checks against underwriting rules to flag coverage gaps or risk criteria, and produces a structured intake file with a review summary for the underwriter.
Workflow steps
Step 1: Ingest submissions from broker emails and portals
The Workflow triggers when a new submission arrives—whether via Gmail, Outlook, or a webhook from a broker portal—capturing the full email and any attached documents.
Step 2: Extract key fields from mixed-format documents
Cassidy parses submissions, schedules of values, and loss runs across PDFs, spreadsheets, and email text, pulling out critical data points like coverage limits, property details, and loss history into structured fields.
Step 3: Check against underwriting rules
Using a Generate Text with Cassidy Assistant action, the Workflow compares extracted data against your underwriting guidelines stored in the Knowledge Base, flagging coverage gaps, missing information, or risk criteria that fall outside appetite.
Step 4: Produce structured intake file and review summary
The Workflow combines all extracted fields and rule-check results into a clean, standardized intake file—complete with a summary highlighting flagged items for underwriter attention.
Step 5: Route to underwriter for review
The structured intake and summary are delivered to the assigned underwriter via email or Teams notification, giving them everything needed to triage and quote faster with confidence.
