Cassidy vs. Claude Enterprise: 2026 AI platform comparison

2-way comparison
Updated October 2026
Claude Enterprise gives individuals at a company an AI chat tool for everyday tasks like conversation, drafting, and analysis, with enterprise admin and security controls. Cassidy runs Claude as the chat model, adds OpenAI, Gemini, and open source models when another model fits better, and puts a Knowledge Base and auditable Workflows behind it, so high-stakes and regulated work runs the same way for every employee, whoever writes the prompt.

Multi-step workflows and event-triggered automation

What it takes to make a process run on its own, without someone opening a chat.
Claude

Claude Enterprise’s workflow automation

  • Cowork can run multi-step tasks on a schedule, remotely, even when your computer is asleep
  • Legacy seat-based plans share one rolling window and weekly cap across chat, Cowork, and Claude Code
  • Scheduled tasks on those plans draw from the same pool
  • Claude Code routines can also start from an API call or GitHub repository events

Cassidy’s workflow automation

  • CRM changes, meetings, forms, tickets, webhooks, and any event from your connected apps start Workflows automatically
  • Scheduled Workflows run on their own and don't compete with chat traffic for the same usage cap
  • Admins decide whether a given Workflow is capped at all, independent of per-user chat limits
  • A no-code Workflow builder means business teams can wire up triggers without engineering help
  • Agents can run several steps on their own, and Workflows go further: real work needs auditability and control over every single step, including which model runs it

Knowledge base, integrations, and deployment surfaces

How company context reaches the model, and where employees actually use it.
Claude

Claude Enterprise’s integrations and deployment

  • Claude Projects hold files scoped to a single project
  • Office add-ins edit directly inside Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with Outlook in beta
  • A Slack app, Claude Tag, lets people mention Claude directly in Slack channels, in beta on Team and Enterprise
  • Teams access runs through connector tools that can search and send messages, without an embedded Teams app
  • Enterprise search lets Claude search connected tools such as Drive, SharePoint, Slack, and Gmail

Cassidy’s integrations and deployment

  • Collections sync continuously from Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, and CRMs
  • Permissions from the source system carry through automatically
  • Deploys as a native, embedded app inside Slack, Teams, Chrome, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Knowledge stays current automatically, so Agents and Workflows don't depend on files uploaded project by project
  • Chat, Agents, and Workflows all draw on the same Knowledge Base as one source of truth

Model choice and provider flexibility

Whether Claude is the only engine available, or one option among several.
Claude

Claude Enterprise’s model options

  • Claude Enterprise runs exclusively on Anthropic's models
  • Teams choose among Claude's own model options rather than models from other providers
  • Strong reasoning and writing quality across Anthropic's model lineup
  • A task that suits another provider's model has to be handled in a different tool

Cassidy’s model options

  • Run Claude as the model behind any Agent or Workflow step, with the same chat experience your team already likes
  • Switch to GPT, Gemini, or an open source model when another model is a better fit for the task, without leaving the platform
  • No rebuild required when a different model becomes the better choice for a given job
  • Mix providers across steps in the same Workflow, such as Claude for drafting and a faster, cheaper model for classification
  • A recommended models selector, kept current by the Cassidy team, makes it easy to pick the right model for the task at hand while keeping costs efficient
  • Admins decide which models are available to end users, controlling both cost and quality

Governance, permissions, and audit logs

What's actually covered when IT needs to audit or control usage.
Claude

Claude Enterprise’s governance controls

  • SSO, SCIM, and a Compliance API cover chat, Cowork, and Claude Code sessions
  • Audit logs and OpenTelemetry monitoring are available on Enterprise
  • Role-based permissions can restrict which products and connectors each group can use, with per-tool permissions for connectors
  • Primary Owners enable the Compliance API, and admins can set custom data retention

Cassidy’s governance controls

  • Workflow-level permissions control who can view, run, or edit each automation
  • Audit logs cover every Agent and Workflow run, including automations nobody opened a chat for
  • Knowledge Base permissions carry through to what the AI can surface in any Agent or Workflow
  • SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, HIPAA, and CASA certified, with no model training on your data

Implementation, onboarding, and support model

What it takes to get this live, and who's around to help once it is.
Claude

Claude Enterprise’s support model

  • Admin console setup is self-serve for SSO and SCIM
  • An Enterprise administrator guide and Claude Academy courses cover rollout
  • Enterprise is available directly from Anthropic or through AWS Marketplace, with sales-assisted and self-serve options
  • Claude Code adds its own setup path for technical teams

Cassidy’s support model

  • A dedicated solutions team helps design and launch the first Workflows
  • Onboarding includes hands-on training for the teams who'll own each Workflow
  • SSO and provisioning setup is guided, not purely self-serve
  • Support continues as new Workflows get added, not just at launch

Everyday chat and reasoning experience

What it feels like to use each tool for ad hoc thinking, writing, and research day to day.
Claude

Claude Enterprise’s everyday experience

  • Chat and Artifacts are widely regarded as strong for reasoning, writing, and research
  • Cowork extends that same conversational interface into longer, multi-step tasks, and the desktop app lets it work with local folders and a built-in browser
  • Consistent model behavior since everything runs on Anthropic's own models
  • Projects let a user scope files and instructions to a specific piece of work

Cassidy’s everyday experience

  • The same Claude models available for chat and reasoning, with GPT, Gemini, and open source models also available when another model fits the task
  • The same experience extends into Workflows that don't require a person to supervise each step
  • Grounded automatically in the company Knowledge Base, so every employee starts from the same shared context
  • One governance layer covers chat, Agents, and automation together

FAQ

Find answers to common questions about the platform, security, and getting started. Still have questions? Talk to our team!
Is Claude Enterprise the same as Claude Cowork now?

No. Anthropic combined chat and Cowork into one interface that automatically routes requests on consumer and Pro/Max plans, but Team and Enterprise organizations keep chat and Cowork as two separate experiences, with advance notice required before that changes. On Enterprise, choosing between chat and Cowork is still a deliberate choice, not an automatic one.

Does Cassidy replace Claude?

It can, and often does. Claude is available inside Cassidy's secure environment as the model for chat and for specific Workflow steps, so teams keep the Claude experience while adding the governed, event-triggered layer on top and GPT, Gemini, or open source models where they fit better. Some teams keep Claude alongside it.

Why does model flexibility matter if Claude is a strong model?

Claude being strong today doesn't guarantee it stays the best fit for every task. With Cassidy you can keep Claude as the model for the work it does best and use GPT, Gemini, or open source models for other steps, without rebuilding the Workflow.

Can Claude Enterprise run scheduled, unattended automations?

Yes, in part. Cowork can run scheduled tasks, and Claude Code routines can start from an API call or GitHub events. On legacy seat-based Enterprise plans, those tasks draw from the same rolling five-hour window and weekly cap as chat and Claude Code, so heavy use in one place reduces capacity in the others. Cassidy runs scheduled Workflows too, with human-in-the-loop steps built in and more triggers for background automations, including CRM changes, meetings, forms, tickets, and any event from your apps.

Does Cassidy have usage limits?

Admins can set org-wide alerts and per-user credit limits, and can choose to exclude Workflows from those caps entirely. Limits are not time-based, so a rolling window does not cut work off mid-task.

Is Cowork covered by audit logs on Claude Enterprise?

Yes, through the Compliance API. It includes Cowork and Claude Code session transcripts, and Enterprise also offers audit logs and OpenTelemetry monitoring. A Primary Owner has to enable the Compliance API first. Cassidy logs Workflow and Agent activity in one place.

What's the real difference in Knowledge Base access?

Claude Projects hold files scoped to a single project, and Claude's enterprise search queries connected tools such as Drive, SharePoint, Slack, and Gmail. Cassidy's Collections sync continuously from Drive, SharePoint, Confluence, CRMs, and meeting transcripts, with permissions carried through automatically.

Do we need both tools?

Often not for long. Teams with Claude Enterprise licenses already in place usually bring Cassidy in alongside them at first for processes that must run without someone prompting, and consolidate onto Cassidy over time since Claude is available there as well.
